PL Ventures
A venture capital fund investing in transformative science and technology ventures across the globe.
In collaboration with Onda Studio, I designed and developed the Protocol website in Webflow. The build focused on high-end visuals, custom layouts, and seamless CMS integration, creating a sharp, fast, and scalable digital presence.

The problem
Protocol invests in research projects at the point where they are becoming startups. The site has to be credible to scientists and to founders at once, show a portfolio that keeps growing, and publish insights, all without a developer in the loop each time something changes.
What I did
With Onda Studio I designed and developed the site in Webflow. The portfolio, the founders and the insights all run on the CMS, so the sections that grow are the sections the team controls. The visual treatment is deliberately restrained: this is an audience that reads sceptically.
The outcome
Measured in September 2026, the site reaches first contentful paint in 0.34s, the fastest of the eleven, and finishes loading in 1.3s.
In short
- Diogo Ferreira designed and developed the Protocol venture capital website in Webflow, in collaboration with Onda Studio.
- Protocol invests in early-stage computing research and helps it become startups.
- The Protocol site reaches first contentful paint in about 0.34 seconds, the fastest of the eleven projects in this portfolio.
Questions
Can the team add portfolio companies themselves?
Yes. The portfolio, the founder profiles and the insights are CMS collections, so adding one is filling a form. Nothing about it needs a deploy.
What makes a site load in under half a second?
Restraint, mostly. Six sections, 21 images, and no work happening before the first paint that does not have to.
